a girl in the grass

i wanted to tell you the story
about a girl that i found in the grass.
she was peacefully picking the flowers
that were withering right in her arms.

light-brown hair falling down on her shoulders,
deep blue eyes looking up to the sky,
she said "don't be afraid and come closer.
i could give you the wings to fly."

i held my breath for a moment
as i sat right in front of the girl.
her pale little hands were colder
than the light of an ocean pearl.

she pointed out to the soft clouds
and smiled with a look of surprise:
"i didn't know there were new ones.
the kids who escaped to the heights.

you see, all of them were running
from the suffer they've had in their lives
they were all so exhausted of trying
while drowning in oceans of lies.

now they`re free. don't you feel kinda envy?
don't you want to be free from your past?
take my hand." she looked at me gently,
as i fell to the void black and vast.

that was death. and i got it too late.
now the girl who looked like an angel said:
"welcome home. now there's nowhere to fled."
as she opened the gates of heaven.
