A rainy day

The sun was so allurringly hot,
People would search for each other
In laptops, in mobile phones,
In streets.

Fast cars
And a flourishing rain,
Tender and heavy.

Someon talks to me
As if we are restless,
Eternal,
Endlessly complicated.

We talk shop,
We write a synopsis
In our minds.

We are encoraged
To work more,
So we stare at a tin-coloured sky
And count minutes

Until rain washes your name

Out of my contact list,
Alas!
