The song of cellar dwellers

To Susan Nicholson and Ron de Bijl

My Mommy Sue, my Brother Ron,
You know, time flies and world goes on,
Life changes rapidly like clouds in windy sky.
But, in this always changing range,
There is a thing that does not change,
My precious memories of time we spent in Lisle –
With people, cats and dogs, and cellar dwellers,
With talks, and jokes, and laughs at Susan’s palace.
It was our time of friendship, fun and pleasure –
The memories that I will always treasure.
My Brother Ron, my Mommy Sue
There’s a thing that I pursue –
To get again together – that’s my soul’s appeal –
If it, alas, will never work,
So what, we still can always talk
‘Cause electricity still has not been repealed.
And I will sing the song of cellar dwellers
About time we spent at Susan’s palace,
It was our time of friendship, fun and pleasure –
The memories that I will always treasure.
