27. Dare I compare your picture with the sunset

Dare I compare your picture with the sunset light?
Though brighter flames I see within your gaze.
By both I’m awed and with such great delight
I feast my eyes and so do count my days.

Sometimes more warm, and sometimes colder, true.
Your changing nature's keeping me aware:
Things we hold dear are not to stay so through
The pace of time each one's obliged to bear.

So daily I embark for our rendezvous
Among all others paying you their homage,
From young to old, all cherish the lovely view,
Not all of them 've acquired yet this knowledge.

What makes the present priceless and awakes my heart,
Is knowing, a split second – and you, love, ‘ll depart.
