A new day

Oh, thank You, Lord! It's a new day
with new adventures to embrace
to follow Your narrow way,
to pray and challenges to face.

To do my duties, working hard,
whatever You put on my plate,
remaining always on my guard
in an alert and watchful state.

Give me such tasks that I could prove
my loyalty and faith to You
and act the way You could approve
by seeking everything that's true.

Avoiding foolish empty talk,
to be hospitable and kind,
and watching steps in all my walk,
to serve in newness of mind.

Help me, my Lord, to overcome
my faults and sinful inclinations,
to Satan's baits not to succumb,
and not to lose my peace and patience.

As I am limited, oh well,
I pray for those who are dear.
Bless them whom I can never help.
Please, stay to those people near.

You are the giver of good things,
in You my hope and provision.
All goodness from Your sources springs,
all inspiration and all vision.

Oh, bless abundantly this day,
let godly qualities accrue,
so I could please You, Lord, I pray,
and make me useful for You.

With every test to get to grips,-
all victories in You are won,
so I could hear from Your lips
the sweetest words "Well done, well done!"
