A drawer for jewels

A drawer for jewels –
so I could call you,
‘cause so you are for me.

I’d put in you pearls and my rubies
and swirl round your thoughts
till they blur.

And by night or, say, morning,
I’d again pull the drawer
to stir all that’s new and what’s old.

All the sapphires and amber,
bad ways and good manners,
coming in silver or gold.

You ask for it, don’t you?
Or am I mistaken
for somebody else?
