R. Niyazov. A Word from the Priest

In the poem «Doors of Jannah», the author talks to God (du’a)
and expresses his thoughts in an attempt to make the poem memorable
to the readers. Eugene expresses piety and fear. Fear of sins; and he
asks for lenience and grace, hoping for the help of God. He also reminds
himself of the fact, that life «is the everlasting strife» (line 11) between
the good and the bad; the desires of one’s heart, tongue and deeds.
We are assured that for our «heart’s strife» we will be rewarded.
In the poem «A Prayer of a Caliph», the author expresses his
awe of the mercy of The Creator and asks for wisdom and knowledge.
He understands that a human can be sinful to some extent, for humans
have their own vices and habits. The author asks for mercy not only
for himself, but for all believers and represents them as a whole entity.
He also prays for light in the future and in the next life; he hopes to
return to the fragrant Jannah with his family («the holy family of
Heavens»).
The author speculates on the Day of Judgment and recalls the
commandments, which Jesus (peace be upon Him!) fulfilled. Those
commandments are contained in the Sunnah of the Holy Qur’an
(43:16), (19:33). He introduces the events of the day into our
imaginations. He reminds us, that on that very day we will discover
the «divine essence» (line 8) and we will understand the Greatness of
the Lord with our own eyes.
By and large, the author addresses God by means of the du’a.
He addresses himself and the readers with bright thoughts and issues
a reminder. He tells of the inner struggle against himself, his own
superstitions, and hopes for mercy from the Almighty, and for reward.
He knows that he is sinful, as are all people. Therefore, he tries to
walk the right path, with the other believers.
The author points out the greatness of the Prophet (S.A.W.S.)
– «Prophet of the East» (line 1). He recalls the mission of the Prophet
Muhammad (S.A.W.S.), that he experienced both difficulties and
happiness. He points out that all that his struggles were for good, for

the greatest «admonitions wise», which gave you the true faith, («you»
refers to the Prophet (S.A.W.S.)) and the development of history.
The author is somewhat of a successor and he transfers the religion
which has been given to all Mankind. He transfers it to his descendants.
