Valentines

I am very busy making
a surprise,
I need a piece of carton,
My scissors and some time –
I want to make for Kitty
A pretty valentine.
She is my friend forever,
Helpful, cute and clever!
I always keep in mind
To make her a valentine.
And what about Granny?
And what about Terry?
My dear auntie Alice
And dear uncle Harry?
Sandra, Mary, Billy, Max?
I should make a lot of cards!
With some sweet and funny lines,
I prepare all these cards
For my dear and beloved
In the shape of bright red hearts:
To my Granny, Terry, Mary,
Auntie Alice, uncle Harry,
Sandra, Billy, Max!
Let the mailman do his work,
Let him have a lot of walk
To every house give a knock,
“Knock-knock!” at the door,
To say politely, “Hi! Hello!”
To every house,
In every town,
Of every county
Say hello.
But the biggest, sweetest card
I will hide in Mummy’s bag,
And to give her some adventure
Write the name
“Your secret stranger”.
