Just love and nothing more

Coffee beans, cocoa beans,
spring water in a cauldron, fire.
The mill is old, but reliable.
It grinds overseas gifts.
The day is slowly fading.

How much should I pour into your mug, my friend?
Could you, please, put some oak chops into the fire?
Can you hear a splash?
That might be a perch or a pike.
Apparently they must be trapped till morning.
We'll shake them out of the net.
In time, on time or later.
But now let's drink a little and sing some songs.

The night is so quiet.
Can you see a meteor in the sky?
Mercury flashes somewhere in the reeds,
Venus over the meadow in its lush beauty.
Coffee is brewed with dark chocolate.
Would you like a glass of brandy?

The sun is now at its zenith somewhere in Arkansas,
or maybe in Salt Lake City.
In fact, that doesn't matter.
We're here and now sharing the beauty of the night.
No talks, no thoughts.
Just love and nothing more.
