3. The Impossible Things - Part 7

There are no desirable showers
If a land has already been drowned.
There are no unerectable towers
For observing the country around.
There are no unoverthrowable powers
If that they care for nothing you’ve found.
There are no unpickable flowers,
But you’d better not disturb the ground.

There are no unbreachable hulls,
Just remember the Titanic’s fate.
There are no unfracturable skulls:
Any war always deepens our hate.
There are no undupeable gulls,
And for swindlers they open a gate.
There are no unendable lulls:
Everything is to end, at all rates.

There are no justifiable raids
Of policemen who’ve a deadly go.
There are no inameliorable grades:
Quality must be high if it’s low.
There are no ungrindable blades
When you will set your teeth for your foe.
There are no inadvisable trades:
All professions are needful, you know.

There are no unstabbable backs
If your foes are insidious men.
There are no untenantable shacks:
With a lover you’ll live in a den.
There are no irreplaceable lacks,
But not everything’s gained by one’s pen.
There are no ununitable packs:
Some have parties; some, bands; and some, ken.

There are no cherishable dreams
When reality destroys them all.
There are no undefeatable teams:
All you must do is to try a fall.
There are no unfordable streams
If you’ve heard someone cry within call.
There are no undeflectable beams,
But you have to remember your goal.
