3. The Impossible Things - Part 6

There are no unclenchable fists
When you face someone you have to fight.
There are no unenterable lists,
But your challenge mayn’t always be right.
There are no untriable twists,
But the force of your tricks can be slight.
There are no undiscoverable gists
If it’s not dim in everyone’s sight.

There are no likeable moils,
And a slogger’s not something to be.
There are no unformable foils:
Many contrasts are ‘tween you and me.
There are no unadmirable soils:
Every land’s something curious to see.
There are no unpierceable boils,
And it cannot be done painlessly.

There are no unlaughable cods
If they aren’t too flat to understand.
There are no ungiveable odds
If you’re sure your rival won’t withstand.
There are no unsparable rods,
But a flogging is not something grand.
There are no undamnable gods
When you see how evil is your land.

There are no escapable tombs:
You shall die, it is true, it is sad.
There are no unscentable blooms,
And it’s fine when they’re close to your bed.
There are no unploughable wombs:
In a Shakespearian sonnet it’s said.
There are no inhabitable rooms:
If you love, you’ll live ev’n in a shed.

There are no unswallowable hooks,
But sometimes you’ll wait long for a strike.
There are no unreadable books,
Only readers that like or dislike.
There are no inaccessible nooks
When down some road you fall and you pike.
There are no unoustable spooks
Even if they can drive motorbikes.
