1. You and I - From A to Z - P

You and I (From A to Z): P

P: Nothing can palliate
My crime — my love for you.
You make me palpitate
Whenever we are two.

Sure you participate
In all that my heart feels,
You always penetrate
Into my secret dreams.

I would perambulate
Our sweet child in a park,
Breath fresh air (how I wish)
And listen to a lark.

I would peregrinate
Streets, alleys all night through:
I think it would be marv’lous
Taking a walk with you.

Your love, it permeates
My body, me it powers.
I seem to perorate
But can do it for hours.

I will perpetuate
Our love in rhymes, and they
Will know you personate
The beauty in its may.

Nothing will perturbate
Our everlasting idyll:
Life in the countryside —
For that there’ll be no bridles.

And our child we’ll placate
Whenever he starts crying.
Later he’ll get well-known —
For him it won’t be trying.

Sometimes I ponderate
If true feelings I’ve got.
Don’t I pontificate?
No, my love’s from the heart.

I will potentiate
An earthly paradise,
And now I predicate
I’ll do it anywise.

Oaks will predominate
O’er our magnif’cent palace,
And in the garden near it
There will be sweetest berries.

Yes, I premeditate
But I’m sure I can do it:
We’ll have our paradise,
You know I am not fluid.

We shall preponderate
Our sceptic neighborhood.
I don’t prevaricate,
That’s so much to the good.

I won’t procrastinate,
Our future must be sweet.
And I prognosticate:
In one year we’ll succeed.

Wish I could prolongate
Our lives to taste all joys
The world could just give us —
I wish God heard my voice,

And I’d propitiate
Him to help us in all,
But there’s no God above
Or else he’d hear my call.

I don’t ever prostrate
Myself ‘fore rank and wealth,
They always pullulate,
But where’ll I get my health?

When the heart don’t pulsate,
They are not worth a thing —
This point I punctuate,
And love is what I sing.
