Victory in Christ

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our LORD Jesus Christ.”
                1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Death was conceived, when Adam sinned,
and even though he chagrined,
he had no knowledge of repentance,
and we, inheriting his traits,
fall for the snake’s crafty baits,
receive, like Adam, a death sentence.

In Adam enmity and strife
for us became a bitter life,
affecting every man and nation.
All human efforts cannot save
from the awaiting gaping grave,-
we all are subject to temptation.

We sin in different degrees,
but, like the sword of Damocles,
death hangs above us, terrifying.
Be rich or famous, or be poor,
the power of death is sure,
all human beings unifying.

It’s turning everyone to dust:
all people – fair or unjust –
will in the ground join ancestors.
It seems, it is human fate:
death takes us  – be it soon or late,
while in the blood sin always festers.

Sin in the heart, if seen or not,
big or as tiny as a dot,
gives opportunity for blaming.
Oh, who could rescue us from sin?
It is inside us, within,
the wrath of Holy God inflaming.

Death is a natural sin’s wage,
but Christ had saved us from God’s rage
by taking punishment on Him,
for loving God did not forsake
His children, who His name take
in the reality so grim.

He’s there for us, without denial,
in every trouble, every trial,
in sorrows He gives us peace.
He had restored with God connection
by knowing death and resurrection.
His Spirit is for us released!

Christ’s righteousness for us is given.
Repent in ashes and believe in
God’s Son to have your life renewed.
He rescues us from heat infernal,
all who accept His gift eternal,
with humbleness and gratitude.

Through Christ God’s mercy is revealed,
in Him we are forgiven, healed,
and Jesus our ways can straighten.
By sinful nature we, indeed,
no longer chained. We are freed
from any sin, and freed from Satan!

God didn’t leave us all alone.
Christ’s blood and tears did atone
and gave us His enormous powers
to overcome all known sin,
in Him alone we can win.
Christ won! His victory is ours!

God’s Everlasting Love

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 8:31-39
