(Inspired by Stephen King’s The Stand)

It’s less than anything you know
But has the power to kill.
With every moment it can grow
By making people ill.

It can let you go for a while,
But it’s sure to return.
Forever you’ll forget to smile,
You’ll wonder why y’were born.

The more you fight the more you gasp,
Start thinking of suicide.
No chance to ‘scape its deadly grasp,
Its fangs and claws hold tight.

This beast is thirsty for your blood,
It won’t stop till it’s full.
It can destroy your neighborhood,
The whole world it can rule.

You may think I dreamed some nightmare,
For such things can’t take place.
I assure you, you’re not aware
Of those things we can face.

Our course of life can’t be called right,
How we treat nature’s wrong.
Let’s do all so we can survive
Or else we’ll all be gone.
