89. Mirror

(Inspired by Styx’s Snowblind)

Mirror, mirror, you show to me
The face of someone who I’ve never seen.
I don’t believe that I have so much changed,
Though my life’s in a mess and can’t be arranged.

Mirror, mirror, I know you’re wrong,
You have been fooling me much too long.
A man can’t be changed in just a day,
Can’t feel good yesterday and bad today.

And now I understand you’re of no use.
Distorted as you are, can’t show the truth.
Mirror, mirror, I am sure:
To break you into pieces is my only cure.

You so much frighten me that I can’t bear
It anymore, so know you must beware.
Someday I’ll take a brick and hit your face,
You’ll vanish from my life without a trace.

In my life you are the worst thing,
And when distorting all, what do you mean?
Anyway, I know I can make things right,
For when you’ve been destroyed, you will not lie.
