66. Devil

I see the devil in your eyes,
And of him don’t you make disguise.
You used your eyes to flirt with me.
It was a sham, and I didn’t see.

I hear the devil in your words,
They wound me as if they are swords.
Though you try to be kind to me,
It’s useless, babe, but you don’t see.

I smell the devil in your scents,
I feel him always in your presence.
You have been cheating me so long,
I’ve grown so weak though I was strong.

Beauty’s always the devil’s trait,
But I’ll no more fall for the bait.
Now I’ve made up my mind, I’ll tell
You straight that you’ve made my life hell.

I have to leave you, I’ve to go,
Or you’ll destroy my immortal soul
By forcing me t’ give in to you,
But the devil won’t take what’s his due.
