63. The Past and the Future
Realizing you’ve spent on it the years of your youth,
There is nothing left but to think of the past,
For you’re sure your life’s going on very fast.
So live with your memory, that’s all I can say,
Forget ‘bout the future, forget ‘bout today.
Ahead there are no good things, they’re all left behind.
Enough to look for justice, this thing no one can find.
You think so, I know.
So lay down on your bed and dip
Into the sound and profound sleep.
You will dream your own promised land,
Forget ‘bout the running out of the sands.
Don’t think ‘bout what the future will show.
The past is your friend, but is the future your foe?
