8. Don t Lose Your Beauty
Do not you know that, sweetest child?
You are so charming and so mild.
They say that beauty’ll save the world.
Do you believe it? I do hold
It right and will do till I’m old.
Remember life is dangerous,
The whole world’s now in a great mess,
But you are still a handsome lass.
Some day you’ll fade like a cyclamen.
Don’t lose your inner beauty, I ban ‘t,
Or ‘twill be really my own end.
Your beauty must be well preserved
In this world, you must be uncurved
Like a reed when weather’s not too cold.
Vow you’ll comply with my request,
And I’ll be happy, so ‘twill be best,
And after that I’ll be at rest.
