fresh wind

i'm today so different from before
the fresh wind's blowing and raising my wings
the old skin is being cut up and torn
my new skin has embraced everything
this fresh wind had not arrived here in vain
it blew off the dust and cleared window pane
i had long dreamed of breath of fresh air
wind and i, we are together again!

valley valley valley through the valley fresh wind flew
fresh wind through the valley, for so long i dreamed of you!
valley valley valley, through the valley fresh wind's flown
fresh wind in the valley, that i wanted for so long!

i will tell it how it was with me
how they tried me from my freedom to treat
how they wanted me to be blind and limp
for the blind and limp is easy to beat!
how they wanted to decide all for me:
what to wear, to breathe and where to live
how they wanted to forbid me to dream
but today no more can then stifle me!

i'm today so different from before
i am hungry but i'm jolly and brash
there is nothing i've to lose anymore
one who'll lose a lot is somebody else!
in the song of wind the thought are all plain:
there's no other truth but eye in the sky!
and this song rings me from heaven again
if you do not hear it, you're deaf and blind!
