Waiting

                Dedicated to the novel
                "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks
and the film of the same name.

I've come at last to Brices Creek.
There's much again for me to see:
The lakes with swans and sweet sunrise,
It seems to me like paradise.

Not only nature called me back.
I've lived my life feeling the lack
Of having us now as a pair –
These memories once more prevail.

A ghost so nice is haunting me:
I see the eyes of emerald green,
The wind is fluttering blond hair.
This image chases everywhere.

With me or not – she is my part
That won't leave if I'm torn apart.
She'd been with me throughout the war.
I couldn't have wished for something more.

My prayers are answered, she is here.
We're reaching friendly atmosphere.
What hid so deep – comes to the surface
Unconsciously, without purpose.

I cannot breathe when she's not near.
Losing her love is my worst fear.
What could I say if described briefly?
The best on earth is loving deeply.
