Farewell to autumn - Anatoly Gatow

Sad to go! Eyes enchantment!
Pleasant to me your farewell beauty -
I love the lavish withering of nature,
In crimson and gold clad forests…
  A. S. Pushkin

 It's a dull time - gone charm:
All the autumn beauty has fallen to the ground,
Ended, alas, the withering of nature,
 And beggarly naked frozen forests.

No wonder they call that time the twilight of the year:
Before the snow the night is dark in autumn listovni.
And in the half-winter hour remained with nature
Only gray tones, and there is no other color.

How dreary and dull are the days of farewell in autumn!
 The heavens mourn them sorrowfully.
All with impatience wait, when with their ending
Will cover the lush snow fields, meadows, forests.

It will be so nice to run in the woods on skis
And enough to breathe the freshness of the forest…
And then the New year will come closer,
When, having thawed, the spruce will smell suddenly in the spring.
