Twelve-year-old Zane can't exactly answer the question of how many brothers and sisters he has, but he is sure that there should have been fewer children in his family. Despite his young age, Zane works illegally, watching the younger ones, helping the older ones, looking for money and documents to emigrate to Sweden. He looks at the world with undisguised hatred. He has something to hate. Children begging on the streets of Beirut, eating sugar-dusted ice and chips, girls getting married as soon as possible, he has to eat anything, sleep wherever he has to, and most importantly, he has just received a five – year sentence. In prison, Zane sues his parents. For giving him life.
