xmas blues

If this town were music, it would definitely be blues—
Sad and rainy, so desperate, dark and gray.
Maybe, I am just equally blue today
And I know exactly what I could use --
Let’s say, a free half an hour—just to scream,
Because feeling - hurts and screwing things up – hurts more…

But instead I’m putting my feet on old, stone-cold church floor,
Just to check out the nativity scene.
What can I say? The infant is not born yet.
But the star of Bethlehem already shines above
The peasants and cattle…It tells us about love
Which exists no matter what, no matter…Wait!
I would love to believe this, I really would, at least one last
Time, but I keep realizing watching an empty crib:
So many Christmas stars have been crumbled under my ribs
That I can only see stardust.

Could it still have some magic to bring it home?
I don’t think so. Walk a mile in my torn shoes.
What about the soundtrack?.. Well, hello, old buddy Tom.

It is just an invitation to the blues.
