When, rippling with delight, there subtly glitter,
Raising the soul, the wings of inspiration
And in the sky with lightnings’ music flitter,
Plucking the stars’ effulgent revelations,

Above the world in the Beyond’s abysm
You dart and drown, drunk with the height unbound,
And twine the topaz waves to singings’ rhythm
And melt the lustres’ gold to honey-sound;

Into word-melodies of shining notes
You rhyme the chime of constellations’ gleamings
That weave the Face of Bliss from stellar odes
By the soul’s love caught in the flute-knit beamings;

And seeing those mysteries light-chanted
And hearing those ray-choired carols crystal,
Transformed into a poet-seer enchanted
You draw the stanzas of the hymn-epistle

In the dawn-omens on the scrolls of heavens,
In the mount-tablets that their peak-strophes troll,
You rhyme the seas’ foam-songs, the flash-tuned levins —
You write the great world-epic with your soul:

On the heart’s pages endless lyrics loving,
On the mind’s flights vast dreamings supernormal:
As with a feather of a Sun-bird glowing
You flourish the verse-twirls of the plots eternal,

Into the Source on the winged insights soaring
Where the Creator His Play to inspire
Sings the world-tunes of Providence exploring
Strings of your Soul — His grand cosmic lyre.

Inspiration


Когда, восторгом зыбясь, тонко блещут,
Вздымая душу, крылья вдохновенья
И в небе молний музыкой трепещут,
Срывая звезд лучистые прозренья,

Ты в распахнувшейся надмирной бездне
Паришь и тонешь, вольной высью пьяный,
И волны бирюзы свиваешь в песни,
Блистаний злато плавишь в слог медвяный…

В сияющие ноты слов-мелодий
Слагаешь ты мерцаний звездных звоны,
Что Лик Блаженства ткут в созвездий оде,
Души любовью в звук запечатленный…
