The Frozen Heart

One’s love can behave like the turbulent fires,
Like storm or like waves in the lake.
Mine feels like the shroud of the crystal blue ice
That covered my senses forever at once,
Concealing the other heartaches.

The years are passing like leaves in the fall
But yet they look frozen and still
From that very day when you poisoned my soul,
And I haven’t been happy or merry at all,
Unable to gladden and feel.

The fancy man told me the cheerful advice:
“Be stubborn and fight for your peace!”
As one can not step in the same river twice,
I know that the terrible crystal of ice
That you call your heart won't
