The positions

The position of a hunter
may have changed into the hunted,
as the sky may change by thunder,
jammed by heavy nasty clouds,
closing Heaven’s ins and outs.

The position of a watcher
may have changed into the butcher,
who will torture, torture, torture
having fun of victim’s cry,
strangled by a rope’s ply.

The position of a gambler
so depends on Fortune’s favor,
and the Dame’s good mood and ember      
to the gambling poor thing
sentenced to: or loose, or win.

The position of a pauper 
may have changed by lucky instant,
if that instant occurs proper
in the welcomed hour or place -
here, there, and outer space.   

The position of a trooper
may have changed in lethal battle 
when escaped be killed or wounded
and came back unhurt along
to the sweetest of all homes.

What position offers you
Mighty God, it is inscrutable,
but whatever is, it’s true,
and to the merits, indisputable.
