The Salt

I've witnessed the birth of a virgin from foam;
I am the silhouette that arises there, and not here;
I tell you straightforward about the unimportant,
I am a flock of children that got caught up
in the heavenly trampoline.
I am the force by which the wind moves;
I am an actor that plays every role;
You would be better off if you
wouldn't notice,
But if you will want to approach me -
Then you can call me The Salt.

I supervise the mechanisms of the night;
I keep sailors from the songs of the Moon;
My paths are by definition shorter
But those who follow them
become transparent;
I tear the foundation of the world to  pieces
To conserve the
immaculately simple essence;
When you come to me
asking for happiness,
If you address me -
you can call me The Salt.

And when in cyclopean dreams
you go through an enfilade of locked rooms
Cornered and barefoot -
You shouldn't look into my eyes;
I swear - really no need;
But if you are still
Going to appeal to me -
You can call me The Salt.
