Discerning the Truth

One can absorb the Christian lingo,
became an expert of Christology,
and still miss out on the link to
Christ Jesus, for it's not theology
that rescues souls, not the knowledge,
though it's a forward step, of course,
which can be readily acknowledged,
as learning is a great source
to seek the Truth of God.
                And yet,
the devil knows more than we could learn.
He'd use this to destroy us, if we let.
It's now so vital to discern
demonic spirits with their cunning twists
perverting Scripture and corrupting minds,
deceiving them.
                One must such trends resist,
where Satan operates with lies and binds.
The Word of God is not to give the wings
to pride, but it is a surgeon's knife,
which cuts us and removes all deadly things,
transforms within, producing a new life.

It's the relationship that God with us desires.
It's the obedience that Jesus Christ requires:
not listeners but doers of the Word
could ever be disciples of the Lord.
