When I withdraw another day
from the account of my time,
protect it, Lord, from all decay,
wrong thoughts, and gossips' petty crime.
Please help me only to You
this new-born day to dedicate.
It's like a mini-life anew,
and morning is a clean fresh slate.
Help me to chose the words of grace
avoiding any kind of shame,
and let me challenges embrace
to glorify Your holy name.
Save me from any worldly trap,
while You provide for my needs,
and keep my soul on the track
to honour You with words and deeds.
