When darkness, engulfing my mind,
so nastily intimidates,
attempting to crush me, to grind
my faith, it harshly dictates
the rules of despair and anguish,
the codes of depression and fear,
and causes my hopes to languish,
what’s left to me?
To persevere.
The longing for truth crystallizes
and inwardly strengthens my sight.
Ignoring well-meaning advices,
it seeks a response from the light.
