There were the times...

There were the times, when I was frustrated
and sought fulfilment of my earthly goals,
but did I ever this anticipated,
that I would give to Jesus my controls?

                For worldly fame I have lost my crave,
                by riches no longer I’m impressed.
                but, as God’s child, I’m forever saved,
                and, as His child, also I’m blessed.

He gave me hope beyond all expectations,
when I’ve to Him surrendered all my dreams,
He is my friend in joys and tribulations,
His love into my being daily streams.

                For worldly fame I have lost my crave,
                by riches no longer I’m impressed.
                but, as God’s child, I’m forever saved,
                and, as His child, also I’m blessed.

My sins forgiven, I am sanctified,
and, when I stumble, now not accused,
I’m not condemned, let God be glorified,
He’s gently teaching, when I am confused.
