Endurance

Why the promising horizons
turn occasionally dark?
All calamities’ surprises
take sometimes us aback.

All the more, when Christ revering, 
it appears even odd:
is He holding the steering
wheel? Indeed, where’s God?

Don’t panic like a manic:
Jesus firmly holds control,
overruling plans satanic,
following the godly goal.

For the heavenly advances
in the hearts, He may immerse
us in troubled circumstances,
which would look to us adverse.

Not the bed of lovely roses, -
Christ was promising a trial,
for adversity deposes
fear of the world hostile.

God is giving strength to face
hardships, suffering, and grief,
he is teaching to embrace
our sorrows with belief.

Have a confidence that flows
from obedience to Him,
that misfortunes, shocks, and blows
weren’t just a divine whim.

When the Time lifts its cover,
you will see that God was right,
you’ll recover and discover:
for your soul He had a fight.

Having heavenly assurance,
don’t fret, when fear grips,
for with patience and endurance
Jesus our hearts equips.
