If I am suffering
let me forever learn:
“Naked came I from my mother's womb;
naked I shall return.”
If I’m suffering days of loss,
let me remember this:
Jesus had promised to me a cross,
not all this life’s bliss.
Naked I came and will go again
there, where I’m alone
laying my feelings of joy and pain
down before the throne.
Would I reproach my Eternal God
deep in my inner soul,
that He reduced all my ways broad,
giving a single goal?
Fear of God is all wisdoms’ start, -
Christ is forever wise.
Grant me, my Father, a humble heart
rather than pies in skies.
God knows better my real needs.
Everything else is cheap.
To quiet waters my Jesus leads,
just like a shepherd his sheep.
Let me surrender my lofty thought
to the Almighty’s power.
He is the One, who my freedom bought,
lightened my darkest hour.
“Naked came I from my mother's womb;
naked I shall return.”
Only in Jesus’ presence I’ll bloom,
like I could never earn.
