Вскипает мыслью дух богини
В ней кровь бурлит под грудой льда,
Волшебным оком взор орлиный
Пронзает океан до дна,
И волны, буйною пучиной,
Наружу извергают рёв,
И разъярённою лавиной
Сметают  всё, что вспять встаёт.
Неравный поединок с дикою стихией
Возносит смертных на сомнений шквал
И дивный гений провидения
Слагает гимны
Увековечивая славу героев легендарных.

Pounds with the thought the goddess’s spirit
The bubbling blood under the  pile of ice,
With the magic eye, the Eagle's gaze pierces the ocean to the bottom
And the waves with its passionate depths
Spew out the roar,
And the furious avalanche sweep away everything that is reversed.
An unequal duel with the elements raises the mortals to a flurry of doubt,
And the marvelous genius of the Providence Perpetuates the courage
Composing the hymns to
The legendary heroes.
