Harmony

Silver strings from heaven dangle
In the air softly tangle
Pearly beads on window-sills
And on children's bare heels
Sun rays poking through a cloud
Down on-to the awing crowd
Sparkling hangs the spider's maze
Keeps a child in a daze:
"How can such a creature small
Be most intricate of all?
He, who weaves such dainty lace,
Must possess some divine grace!"
Under chestnut brunch I lay
To see off this lovely day
Rose-lit light so sweet and dim
Paint in rose my daytime dream
In the dusk I bade farewell
To the place where spirits dwell -
To the meadow, chestnut tree,
Spider's web and now with glee
Shall I part - and part for good -
Where no man's feet ever stood.
I shall go far-far away,
Where flutes do always play,
There until new dusk shall stay
To see off another day
