On Happiness

I have always defended my happiness,
Never taken it for granted;
It's a gentle flame, that you can't caress,
But it keeps you forever astounded;

Every single day of my fragile self;
Is devoted to inner life;
Brainstorms and feelings, challenging mess...
Just keep going, forget and strive!

Other dreamers fly during the day,
They are fit for gracious feats,
Their experiences one by one multiply,
They have sharp and hilarious wits;

Alas, I am just looking away,
Shrugging shoulders at my own powers;
Plotting plans to capture a beautiful day,
Joy and lightness of summer showers;

But happiness is the muse of fads;
Effervescent, transparent and tricky,
No law it ever understands,
But, in fact, avoids the weak.
