The Boston Waltz. Вальс-бостон

Перевод песни Александра Розенбаума «Вальс-бостон».

Having put on the silk dress, presented by the wind,
Autumn stepped on yellow leaves like on a carpet.
And she danced the Boston Waltz in empty yards for me.
And the hoarse saxophone played the sunset melody.

Birds from all the roofs around flew down and clapped their wings
To the graceful Golden Dancer and her talent.
Sad and silent people suddenly began to sing, And they smiled. …Long ago it was…
But what a nice dream!

How often I dream that dream –
my unbelievable dream-
The dream where Autumn danced the Boston Waltz for me!
The dream about fallen leaves, the gramophone record’s twist…
Don’t walk away! Please stay with me!
You’re me caprice!
How often I dream that dream –
my unbelievable dream-
The dream where Autumn danced the Boston Waltz for me!

And a miracle had happened in the house of mine
When it started rocking in time with the music.
It recalled the time when it was young and full of love,
And it shared its delight with all the people inside.

As the lovely sounds had faded in the evening dusk,
Lady Autumn did her crying with the raindrops.
Everything that starts must end. But my heart thrilled because
I could hear, I could see that Waltz!
How happy I was!

How often I dream that dream - my unbelievable dream-
The dream where Autumn danced the Boston Waltz for me!
The dream about fallen leaves, the gramophone record’s twist…
Don’t walk away! Please stay with me! You’re me caprice!
How often I dream that dream - my unbelievable dream-
The dream where Autumn danced the Boston Waltz for me!
