Hues...

Each country has its own “colour palette”. And moving your gaze from one to another can be a refreshing experience in itself.
When you touch down at Changi, you don’t see any colour at all. You are met by an “elegant, reserved lady” - everything is subtle and subdued - tints, tones, and blends. An old world English “coolness” mixed with an Eastern sophistication produce an exquisite result - it’s not one of those “throw it all in your blender” concoctions, but an elaborate “creation”, with all the ingredients carefully folded in and layered in an exotic “tiramisu” style.
Everything runs smoothly and slowly. Surrounded by this “cocoon” of “pastels”, calmness and care, you may not even notice what goes on beneath the glossy veneer, especially if you only stay for a short time.
If, however, lulled by this “undulating” experience, you continue your trip, and land in NZ, your senses will have a very sharp “awakening”.
Fresh antarctic wind, also known as “hello from penguins”, will surely blow away “all
cobwebs” from even a very “sleepy” mind. And you’ll stand there awestruck, staring at an
intense blue sky, thinking “how could it be so blue?”, your eyes hurting from the brightness of it all, and you close them - just for a moment!! - and you … jump...because a sudden “shower” came - literally - “out of the blue” and soaked you - within just a few seconds - in “nice” cool rain water ...And while you are trying to decide whether to be annoyed, amazed … or something else - a magnificent huge rainbow appears… then another...and with your breath taken away... you can only exhale softly “Thank You”...and embrace The Promise ...

I like English "coolness" as much as I like British English.))
And I like tinges and shades more than colours.
Your story is so exquisite and so subtle, it's full of tinges and shades...
