здесь место брошенных, и столько их!
This place of derelicts who’re numerous!

В квартире с выбитыми стёклами
In flat with broken windows two of them -

две тени. Или два кота.
It means two cats with not quite fit.

Хозяева? Один сбежал,
Their owners? One did escape.

другой... Лизали кровь морозную.
The other... Cats did lick the frosty blood.

Букет с засохшими мимозами
Bouquet with withered flowers is run out

вчера закончился, а жаль.
Last morning, so much they regret.

Осколки колки и ни зги,
The splinters spiny are in dark,

здесь никогда не распогодится.
The weather never will be here cleared up.

Вчера в окно упала горлица –
Into the window fell a turtledove –

без головы и без ноги.
A head as well a foot without.

А те, кто мимо шел, - им пох,
Those, who are strangers, do not care

не до голодных, неухоженных.
About hungry and neglected ones.

Зимой давились курткой кожаной,
In winter they did with a leather choke

и есть еще один сапог.
And one more boot cats may eat there.

Стекают слёзы по усам,
Down whiskers flow tears and God

Кошачий бог не дал им выбора:
Of cats did not a choice give them:

для них не будет стен без выбоин
No walls without potholes will be there

и не откроется Сезам.
And Sesame will open not.

Им бы любви до хрипоты
They would have love with hoarseness and

и дольку одеяла ватного...
A part of quilt that warming is enough…

My poor cats from this Donetsk,

ну, как там наша жизнь - девятая?..
