Melodies

Melodies flow over the Earth
They are melodies of rains
 dropping down from a roof;
They are melodies of storms
 attacking gravely distant shores;
They are melodies of trees
 talking to a chilly breeze;
They are melodies of trains
 tapping over iron rails;
They are melodies of thrushes
 building their nests in bushes;
They are melodies of busy
 streets and boiling squares.
Though can they be compared
 with the melody of frail
Mood of fiddle quivering strings
 Drifting slowly in the air
By true smiles and sad tears?
