Simplicity of the ABC
In simple lives of A and B
When A’s a simple Little Prince
And B’s a Princess on a Pea
Two teensy kids stand in a queue
The first time A at B will glance
When heard “pair up” – that’s how it’s found
A simple act of holding hands
As years pass by, it comes to prom
A knows, B clearly understands
As beats fade into maudlin songs
A simple act of holding hands
In crowds they push in and through
While being deafened by the bands
They won’t get lost joined by the bond
A simple act of holding hands
Their fingers weave, chained by the rings
It’s time for making future plans
It’s not as scary when you feel
A simple act of holding hands
A tiny C is now brought
A stork meets AB as it lands
C cannot speak, but what it knows -
A simple act of holding hands
The flowers slowly turn to dust
They scatter past along the sands
What’s kept forever ever more-
A simple act of holding hands.
