Before the clock will strike midnight
Let’s close our eyes and make a wish
To see the future needs no sight,
So let me say as much as this.
We are the victims of amour,
Allied in vows that we took.
I ask the year coming through
To write new chapters in our book.
So let me wish with kindest grace
To feel your breath against my cheek,
To lose myself in your embrace
And find the things we both seek.
To be at peace and be as one,
I’d raise my glass to it, my dear!
God, give us strength to overcome
The hardest times without fear.
I pray the year brings you smile
And sweetest memories that will last,
In our hearts a long long while,
By making them a part of us.
