Morpho

Brought to sunlight from below
Celestial licks of sienna
On devastated ground’s face
How come that welcome dawned

Translucent shadow flittered up
To show its genuine color
With distant canopy turned into one
A zaffre omen of spring

The ringing air was a cradle
For frail entity that lived two days
Not long enough but surely plenty
For guarding someone's soul

It flew through visions from the past
And savoured every drop of sweet
Until it outlived it all
And honey taste turned bitter
