Living in a city

Living in a city
Of unrequited dreams,
We dive in shallow waters,
That fill us to the brims,
We drive towards eternity
Of dreadful destinations,
Where nobody is our guide
And God imagines nations,
That have no purpose,
But to fight;
Either for boss, or women's rights
And stay in tense relations,
And follow logic of the old:
Be very hot, or very cold -
No darkness in the middle,
Because darkness kills the verse,
You cannot kill it with your purse,
Create the stories bona fide,
That look like glory, taste like pride.
