The Tower of London
Stone walls and little glass.
This is the sight of the Tower.
A palace, a zoo, a prison...
Each was for a season.
They were the names of the Tower.
The colours aren't red,
But in the books I've read
There was much blood in the Tower.
The iron Traitors' Gate,
Queen Elizabeth's fate,
That was the "shame" of the Tower.
The famous prisoners' cells,
Of which a guide tells,
They were the "terror" of the Tower.
The nine hundred years' life,
The torture with a knife,
This is the history of the Tower.
A "Beefeater" as a guard,
The Raven Master's regard,
This is a "smile" of the Tower.
The five square towers
Without many flowers,
This is their pride and ours.
