Thanksgiving Day
(Каждый последний четверг ноября в США отмечается их большой национальный праздник - День Благодарения).
Stormy Atlantic waters
tossed "The Mayflower" ship.
One hundred Pilgrims with hopes
ended the dangerous trip.
They hardly survived through the winter
having nothing to eat...
In spring native people the Indians
taught them to plant the seed.
The harvest was rich in autumn
and Pilgrims gave thanks to the Lord.
Thanksgiving is very old
but warm though cold is fall.
People have large turkey dinner,
watch football games and parades
and know that Pilgrims and Indians
survived being real friends.
