* В немецкой мифологии Лорелей описывается как одна из дев реки Рейн, которая прекрасным пением заманивала мореплавателей на скалы. Данная скала расположена в самом узком месте русла реки. По преданиям сильное течение и скалистый берег этого отрезка Рейна действительно создавали все условия для частых кораблекрушений.
