The bleeding heart

Isn't it nice to watch the bleeding heart?
No, not the one, which in my chest beats:
It grows just behind the wooden hut,
In the corner of the garden, where Ginger lives.

Who is Ginger? Now is your turn to ask,
And I'll answer the question without a mumble-
She is the rabbit, whose fur in dusk
Acquires a colour close to purple.

You want me to leave Ginger in peace,
Though Thom is the person, who looks after her,
In a word, her only modest caprice is-
Sainsbury's carrots, of which he is aware.

Who is Thom? You are to a great extent curious,
But am I staying on a right track?
For I don't want him to get furious
After being talked about behind his back.

Who am I? You have all the rights to know:
I am a doctor, who cannot stop self-education.
Now, when you know where the bleeding heart grows
Don't hesitate to feel its exhausted pulsation.
