A dropet in the ocean

The tides
Of whichever ocean I cross again
In whichever picture of dawn or dusk
Will remind me of and carry on
Something that I have abandoned once.
I will not be lost in the sky,
I will not be able to
Forget the amber glow of these eyes
Across the ocean
That's sinking in light.
The ocean, that also has abandoned once
Something so pure and dear to heart,
Something it always leaves on the shore
Pulled back by an unavoidable tide.
Just as the waters come back to earth,
As birds find their path despite the miles above,
Some day I will make it back to you,
To be complete in the echo of laugh
And to find that time will never be
Even close to what is or could be enough...
