JESUS - FASZINIEREN ANDERS ALS GEDACHT

Es ist Weihnachten. Gott wird Mensch und kommt in Jesus als kleines Baby in diese Welt. WER IST/WAR DIESER MENSCH JESUS? Zu allen Zeiten seit seinem Kommen haben Menschen sich Gedanken darьber gemacht: War er wirklich nur ein Tramp, der das Land durchzog und raue Maenner auf der Strasse auflas, die Ihm dann folgten. Wo kam er her, dieser Jesus? Was er wollte er? Viele sahen, was er tat, und doch blieb er fuer die meisten ein Raetsel. War er gefaehrlich? War er eine Bedrohung? Wenn er redete, dann waren die Menschen fasziniert, denn Seine Worte hatten Kraft und wer ihn hoerte , schwieg betroffen. Seine Bilder und Vergleiche waren faszinierend fesselnd und die Leute sassen stundenlang, um Ihm zuzuhoeren. Er tat Wunder. Er ging zu Fuss auf einem See. Er gab Blinden das Augenlicht wieder. Er machte Wein aus klarem Wasser. Er vermehrte Fisch und Brot. Er heilte Aussдtzige und weckte Menschen vom Tod auf. Er sprach vom Wirken des Heiligen Geistes und vom juengsten Tag und dem ewigen Gericht. Er rief den Menschen zu: Die Wahrheit macht euch frei! Im selben Atemzug verkuendete er, dass er selbst die Wahrheit in Person ist. Zuerst wollte die Masse ihn gern zum Koenig machen. Es gefiel ihnen, dass er laut von Korruption sprach und offen auf Unrecht hinwies. Aber letztlich hasste man seinen Einfluss und kreuzigte ihn.

Wenn es um diesen Jesus geht, muss man zunaechst einmal einfach nur feststellen: ER IST faszinierend! Man kann zu IHM ja stehen wie man will, aber das eine man muss zugeben: Keiner diese Welt so bleibend beeinflusst hat wie er. Das fasziniert: Sein bleibender Einfluss. Weltweit sind heute ueber 2 Milliarden Menschen davon ueberzeugt, dass Jesus es wert ist, sich an Ihm zu orientieren. Das ist ein Drittel der Weltbevoelkerung. Und die Zahl ist steigend. Die Person Jesus uebt nach wie vor eine immense Faszination und Anziehungskraft auf die Menschen aus. Was ist es, dass wir auch nach ueber 2000 Jahren von Jesus Christus so fasziniert sind? Da gibt es wahrscheinlich viele Antworten. Ich denke da an seinen makellosen Charakter, seine vollmaechtige Lehre, seine bedingungslose Liebe, seine spannenden und ueberfuehrenden Geschichten und seine exzellente Fuehrungs-Qualitaeten. Jesus - so faszinierend anders als gedacht: Er stellt sich zur Ehebrecherin, als sich alle von ihr distanzieren. Er kehrt bei dem Zoellner ein, als sich alle ueber ihn empoeren. Er ruft die Kinder zu sich, als alle sie wegschicken wollen. Er vergibt Petrus, als der sich wegen seines Versagens selbst verdammt. Er lobt die Opfer der Witwe, als sie von allen uebersehen werden. Er verjagt den Teufel, als alle anderen auf ihn hereingefallen waeren. Er verspricht dem Schaecher das Himmelreich, als alle ihm die Hoelle wuenschen. Er ruft einen Paulus in die Nachfolge, als alle ihn als Verfolger fuerchten. Er flieht dem Ruhm, als alle ihn zum Koenig machen wollten. Er liebt die Armen, als alle nach Reichtum streben. Er heilt die Kranken, als sie von anderen aufgegeben waren. Er schweigt, als alle ihn anklagten, verspotten und auspeitschen. Er stirbt am Kreuz, als alle ihr Passah feiern. Er nimmt die Schuld auf sich, waehrend wir unsere Haende in Unschuld waschen. Er steht von den Toten auf, als alle meinen, alles sei zu Ende. Jesus ist faszinierend anders als gedacht.

Dass man Jesus heute noch erleben kann, das ist fьr mich das faszinierendste an Ihm! Das ist aus meiner Sicht in unserer westlichen, postchristlichen Generation die am wenigsten bekannte Tatsache. Man kann diesen faszinierenden Jesus Christus auch noch heute persцnlich kennen lernen. Man kann Jesus Christus zum Helfer und Retter seines Lebens machen und erleben, wie er hilft, das Leben sinnvoll zu gestalten. Vielleicht ganz anders als gedacht. Jesus ist auch fuer Dich persoenlich erfahrbar. Er will Dein Leben bereichern und dir helfen, Dein von Gott geschenktes Potential zu leben. Lade Ihn durch ein schlichtes Gebet ein, in Dein Leben zu kommen. Du wirst die faszinierendste Persцnlichkeit kennen lernen, die es gibt und entdecken: Jesus ist faszinierend anders als gedacht.

JESUS - FASCINATING DIFFERENT THAN EXPECTED

It's Christmas. God becomes man and comes in Jesus as a tiny baby into this world. WHO IS / WAS THIS MAN JESUS? At all times since his coming people have thought about it: Was he really just a tramp, who passed through the land, gathering rough around him on the road, who followed Him then. Where did he come from, this Jesus? What did he want? Many saw what he did, and yet he remained a mystery for most. Was he dangerous? Was he a threat? When he spoke, people were fascinated, because His words had power and those who heard him, were affected. His parables and comparisons were fascinating and captivating. People sat for hours to listen to Him. He did miracles. He walked on a lake. He gave sight to the blind again. He made wine from fresh water. He increased fish and bread. He healed lepers and raised people from the dead. He spoke of the work of the Holy Spirit and of the Last Day, and of eternal judgment. He called out to the people: The truth will set you free! In the same breath, he announced that he himself is the Truth in person. At frst, the mass wanted to make him king, because they liked how he spoke out against corruption and openly pointed out wrong. But ultimately they hated his influence and crucified him.

When it comes to this Jesus, you just have to admit: HE IS fascinating! No one has influenced the world as consistently as he did. This really is fascinating: His constant influence. In the world today, more than 2 billion people are convinced, that Jesus is worthy to be followed and to listen to his guidance. That's a third of the world population. And the numbers are increasing. The person of Jesus continues to exercise an immense fascination and attraction to the people. What is it, that we are so fascinated by Jesus Christ, even after 2000 years? There are many answers. I'm thinking of his impeccable character, his authoritative teaching, his unconditional love, his exciting leadership and awesome stories. Jesus is so fascinatingly different than we think: He faces an adulteress, when all distance themselves from her. He is invited by the publican, when all are indignant about it. He calls the children to himself when all want to send them away. He forgives Peter, who is condemning himself for his failure. He praised the widow's mite, as she is overlooked by all. He chased the devil, when any other would have fallen for him. He promised the thief the kingdom of heaven, as all others wish him hell. He calls Paul to follow him, as all fear him as a persecutor. He flees fame when everyone wanted to make him king. He loves the poor, as all strive for wealth. He heals the sick, when they were abandoned by others. He is silent, as all are accusing, mocking and flogging him. He died on the cross, when all were celebrating their Passover. He takes the blame, while we all wash our hands of it. He gets up from the dead, as all think, that everything was over. Jesus is fascinatingly different than expected.

 But to me the most fascinating about him is, that we can still today experience this Jesus. This is in our western, post-christian generation - from my point of view - the least known fact. You can get to know this fascinating Jesus Christ even today personally. You can make him your helper and savior. You can experience today, that Jesus Christ helps you to make life meaningful. Perhaps quite different than expected. Jesus can be personal experienced by you. He will enrich your life and help you, to live your God-given potential. You can invite him by a simple prayer to come into your life. You will get to know the most fascinating personality there is and will discover: Jesus is fascinatingly different than expected.
